I did it, I actually ran for 20 minutes yesterday!! The first 10 minutes weren't bad, but each minute got progressively harder. I kept telling myself I could do it, once I got to 15 minutes I knew I could run for 5 more and soon I was at 19 and used everything in me to push through that last minute. This is a huge accomplishment for me and makes me a bit teary. I was never a runner, I thought my body wasn't made for running and now I am actually doing it. I'm on to week six of the couch to 5k program starting Monday and I'm more confident than ever that I can reach my goal of running 5k. I'm already thinking ahead to 10k, but one running goal at a time.
If there is something that you've always wanted to do and thought you couldn't, I encourage you to try. It's the best feeling in the world discovering you actually can!

ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS on your running. It's kind of hard to believe how empowering running can be until you experience it. I haven't run in a long time but I look forward to getting back to it. So happy for you - it's not easy to try something you've always assumed you couldn't do. Enjoy the glow of your great accomplishment!
