I completed week 6 of couch to 5k today with a 25 minute run. It's a bit of a mental game after the first 10 - 15 minutes, but I knew I could physically do it after last week's 20 minute run (thank-you for the encouraging comments!). I try not to focus on the time too much while I'm running as some of those minutes seem to take forever to get through. Two things help me to get through it: 1) reminding myself that time marches on whether I'm running or standing still and 2) music. This is just a sample of my very eclectic taste.

25 minutes! That's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great mental technique-- another thing to try: just count to 25 and then count backwards and tell yourself that you won't stop until you're done.
ReplyDeleteYou can get lost in the counting and then you keep on going!!! Sounds dumb but has worked many times for me in the past.
