Approximately $300 dollars!! This calculation is based on no longer buying breakfast and lunch at work everyday. On average I would spend $10/day, doesn't seem like a lot, but it adds up quickly. If I inlcude the take-out meals I used to have on the weekend it's probably double that.
Since the start of pre-op diet and continuing post surgery I've had breakfast at home every morning and taken my lunch to work. There's a deli in the building at work which is certainly convenient but it's nice being in control of what I eat and know exactly what's in it.
With the money I've been saving I've started a clothing fund for the things I'll need as I lose weight. Fortunately for me and much to M's chagrin I have a hard time parting with clothing. At one point I did donate many of the smaller sizes because I had given up hope of ever being able to fit into them again. I did hang on to things that I really loved in a range of sizes, but will still need to supplement.
It will be nice to have lots of shopping choices again. I've been limited to just a handful of stores that carry plus-sizes and it has been a challenge. There are more options in the US, but in Canada not so much. On many shopping expeditions I often walk away empty handed. Who the heck designs that stuff anyway? Why can't they make more stylish, quality things in larger sizes? and no thanks, my pants do not need to be bedazzled.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Bianca-I think I still have the twenty in my wallet from 4 weeks ago so I too am saving from not eating out (and I did a lot of drive-throughs) or buying junk (like chocolate). Hope your fund grows massive so you can splurge. I think I read you were in Toronto, so you can make a weekend trip to the states when the weather gets better for those cuter fashions.
ReplyDeleteOh nice going!!! I love that you are saving that money and using it on yourself. Fantastic. Hope you had a fun (shopping?) weekend!!!
